An annual tea celebration was held at the Pao Arts Center in Boston on Friday to mark the 50-year anniversary of the Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center.

The agency, dedicated to Asian and new immigrant families, serves more than 8,000 people per year in several cities and towns across Massachusetts.

To mark their growth in the past five decades, the agency celebrated with elected officials, including Gov. Charlie Baker and Mayor Martin J. Walsh, who partook in the annual tea ceremony.

The tea served included a blend similar to what was thrown in the Boston Harbor 245 years ago to protest taxation by the British government.
