Marco Bertona, Italy Director of the World Tea Organization (WTeaO.org), is the Chairman and CEO of ADeMaThè Tea Association of Italy (意大利茶业协会), is the Founder and President of the international Slow Tea Association (国际慢茶协会), is a Professional Member of the International Society of Tea Science in New Delhi (India), is also the National Delegate (for Italy) at the FAO Intergovernmental Group on Tea (IGG/Tea), and an expert on Tea Science in Europe. Bertona is frequently invited to attend high-end meetings on tea around the world and delivered keynote speeches.

Marco Bertona is also a disseminator of Chinese tea and Chinese tea culture. He had studied in Tea Research Institute of the Guangdong Academy of Agriculture Sciences in Guangzhou (Canton) and got the Chinese Advanced Tea Taster Certificate issued by the Ministry of Human Resources of P.R.C. He is the only Westerner to get this qualification.

Bertona toured and investigated tea plantations around China, did not care for wealth or fame, but made unremitting efforts to promote Chinese tea and tea culture in overseas.

Based on his outstanding contribution to the tea culture exchange between China and Italy, Marco was conferred a lifetime achievement award as Italian Ambassador of Chinese Tea Culture by the Organising Committee of the China Tea Cultural Week at China’s National Pavilion at World Expo Milano 2015 in Italy.

 

A Brief Introduction of Tea Association of Italy

ADeMaThè Tea Association of Italy (意大利茶业协会) is a national non-governmental and non-profit cultural organization, and the first and oldest tea association in Italy.

The activities of the Association are addressed to both consumers and professionals. Members and partners of the Association are tea researchers, importers, wholesalers, retailers and professionals in the hospitality industry.

ADeMaThè of Italy is the only Tea Professional Association in Italy, and the only national body able to issue Certificartes of Profssional Competence under the Italian Law 4/2013 for professionals working in Italian Tea Industry, such as Tea Traders, Tea Tasters, Tea Sommeliers, Tea Blenders and Masters in Tea Ceremonies.

ADeMaThè also was the first tea association and training institution in the world to organize courses and issue certificate of professional competence for Tea Sommelier. Since 2004!

Marco Bertona (马可•贝托纳), 世界茶叶组织 (World Tea Organization) 意大利方负责人, 意大利茶业协会主席 (ADeMaThè Tea Association of Italy), 联合国粮农组织政府间茶叶小组 (FAO IGG/Tea) 成员意大利专员, 国际慢茶协会 (Slow Tea) 创始人兼主席, 印度新德里国际茶研究

(International Society of Tea Science) 联盟的会员,  欧洲茶学专家, 曾多次受邀参加世界各地的高端茶叶会议, 并发表演讲。

他也是中国茶及茶文化的传播使者, 曾进修于广东农科院茶科研究所,  并获取中国高级评茶员资格认证证书, 是唯一一位获得该资格证书的欧洲茶人。他的足迹遍布了中国大大小小的茶区茶园, 他不求名利,  十年如一日的坚持不懈为中国茶及茶文化的海外宣传亲历亲为。基于他在中意两国茶文化交流上所做出的杰出贡献, 在2015年意大利米兰世博会上 (World Expo Milano 2015), 马可获得了中意茶文化大使 (Italian Ambassador of Chinese Tea Culture) 终身成就奖。
